Course Rules
The following rules are on play at Twin Lakes Golf Course. Please familiarize yourself with the rules before playing the course.
Rules of Play | Rules of Conduct
1)USGA rules govern all play
2)Out Of Bounds: On holes 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 white stakes, fences or property lines on left. On holes 4 & 5 stakes on right are out of bounds for the protection of players on holes 7 and 6 respectively as well as the # 7 tee area.
3)Ditches, Crossings, and Ponds: On holes 3, 8, 13, 15 and 18, ditches and ponds are water hazards. Boundaries are marked with yellow stakes and painted lines. You may play the ball in a hazard, but do not ground your club. You may also bring the ball back in line of flight with a one stroke penalty. Service roads and cart paths are not hazards and balls may be played in accordance with USGA rule 24.
4)Improved Lie:
a)You may improve lie to grass no nearer the hole and without improving line of flight, when in the proper fairway.
b)In the rough or wrong fairways, ball will be played as it lies or called unplayable. You may use a rock club or take a stroke penalty by moving the ball 2 club lengths but no closer to the hole.
5)Obstructions: The tall protective fence on the east side (right) of # 7 tee box is considered an immovable obstruction. If your ball goes next to the fence you will get a 1 club length free drop. NOTE: Out of bounds stakes and perimeter fences are not obstructions. No relief is allowed if either interferes with intended swing or stance.
6)Young Trees and Protected Areas: Where trees identified by white collars or white stakes that interfere with a players stance or intended swing the ball shall be dropped without penalty within two club lengths of it's location, or to the nearest point of complete relief, but not nearer the hole.
7)Priorities:
a)Tournaments: Any scheduled and approved tournament will have priority over general play.
b)Ladies and Men's Day (Thursday and Tuesday): Priority on the golf course will be given to participants until play is completed.
c)10th Tee: Players completing the 9th hole have priority on the 10th tee (providing they go directly to the 10th tee). Players will not start on the 10th hole without approval of the pro shop.
The following rules have been adopted by the Association Rules Committee and the Association Board of Directors and apply to all members and guest.
1.MOTORIZED CARTS: Motorized carts shall stay on cart paths unless 90 degree rule is in effect. Cart signs shall be observed, and in the absence of signs, carts shall stay 20 yards from all greens and off all tees. Pull carts and carry bags shall be kept off greens and tee boxes. Cart paths only on all Par 3's.
2.ATTIRE: All members and guest shall wear appropriate attire. No cut-offs, or tank tops for men or women.
3.JUNIOR GOLFERS: It is the responsibility of the parents to ensure that junior golfers are familiar with golf etiquette, the rules of golf, and TLGA local rules.
4.NON-PLAYING GUEST: A player accompanied by a non-playing guest, is responsible for assuring that they observe safety rules and do not interfere with other golfers or cause damage to the golf course.
5.CHILDREN: Children under age five are not permitted on the golf course except when accompanied by an adult TLGA member and CONFINED to such members privately owned motorized carts. Children between five and twelve years, in order to play golf, must be accompanied by an adult, and be deemed capable of playing by the Pro Shop staff.
6.PETS: No pets are permitted on the golf course.
7.SLOW PLAY: If one hole or more is open ahead, following players shall be waved through, regardless of whether it is a twosome, threesome or foursome.
8.PUTTER: Use of putter blade to retrieve ball from cup is prohibited.
9.LANGUAGE: Use of obscene words or offensive language is prohibited on entire golf course and clubhouse area.
10. PRACTICE: Hitting of practice balls to greens including practice greens is prohibited. In accordance with USGA rule # 7, practice chipping is permitted only in the designated area adjacent to the # 1 tee box and wooded area.
11.EQUIPMENT: All players must have their own clubs and bag. All equipment must be USGA approved.
12.DIVOTS: Replace divots and repair ball marks on greens.
13.GROUPING: Fivesomes will not be permitted.
14.SHOES: Soft spikes are required for play on course.
15.CART DRIVERS: Children driving TLGA member's golf carts must be twelve years of age. TLGA members must assume all liability.
16.REGISTRATION: All members must register at the clubhouse before play.
17.Guest: Guest fees are made available to members with visitors who's home address is over 50 miles from the club. Guest fees can not be applied to non members living within 50 miles of the Club. Guest fees can only be offered to persons golfing with a TLGA member.
